High Speed Assembly Machines grown-up lego, have you noticed that USAians call lego legos - i think they call lego bricks "legos" this is dumb.... like my dad calls rolos rolloss - but he should know he is the "king of the dance settee" - so my apologies for not posting much but in the words of a USAian who made a pass at me years ago in a Canterbury pub: "Lauuarence, you don't exactly turn my crank but how about my hotel?" things just aren't turning my crank at the moment... i plan to get drunk tonight as b33na is out so we'll see what lows i stoop to in search of a blog! posted by Laur3nce at 4:54 PM Sunday, December 15, 2002

recent sighting of myself - this picture has several interesting features... i had just sorted out our USB nightmares by installing a new card - oh! the spaghetti and dust down there - i tried my lego-cam and this shows the ability of the lego cam responding in the infrared range from the heat of my cigarette, the same happens if you zap it with the t.v. controller - interesting! this also shows the dangerously overgrown fingernails on my left hand - i must ask beena to cut them before i see my shrink because they freak her out - trickcyclists squirming out of horror of fingernails are not condusive to mental health care - the last interesting point is my geekculture.com propellorhead beanie, i love it - i havn't been out very far with it on and rather than passersby saying "Oh you have a propellor on your head" they clock it from miles off and desperately avoid my gaze... two responses so far... "i like your hat!" from the girl in happy shopper, and, "have you ever seen 'those magnificent men in their flying machines'?" from sherif on the corner - my response is rehearsed " it spins round when i have an idea! " - i wish! posted by Laur3nce at 3:29 PM

Social Studies [Knee Play 4] ---------------------------- I thought that if I ate the food of the area I was visiting. That I might assimilate the point of view of the people there. As if the point of view was somehow in the food. So I would make no choices myself regarding what food I ate. I would simply follow the examples of those around me. I would study menus very carefully, Making note of important differences and similarities. When shopping at the supermarket I felt a great desire to walk off with someone else's groceries So that I could study them at length And study their effects on me. As though if I ate their groceries I would become that person; until I finished their groceries. And we might find ourselves going to the same places. Running into one another at the movies Or in a shopping mall. Reading the same books. Watching the same TV programmes. Wearing the same clothes. Travelling to the same places. And taking the same pictures. Getting sick at the same time. And getting well again simultaneously. Finding ourselves attracted to the same people. Working at the same job. And making the same amount of money. Living identical lives - as long as the groceries lasted. lyrics by David Byrne - i live my life by this principle but i use discarded shopping lists posted by Laur3nce at 5:13 PM
